Unlocking Children’s Potential Through Movement

Why this course matters:

Many children enter school with motor competency challenges due to limited physical activity, increased screen time, or prolonged use of prams and car seats. These issues can impact their confidence, co-ordination, and engagement in physical activities.

A Solution to Long NHS Wait Times

With therapy service waiting lists stretching up to four years, early intervention is critical. Our vision is to introduce nationwide motor competency screening in schools, allowing for timely identification and support.

Why Movement Screening?

We already assess phonics and numeracy – why not movement? Physical development is just as essential and our programme fills this crucial gap.

About the Course

Our one day certificated course equips teachers, LSAs, coaches and teacher trainers with:

  • The skills to conduct diagnostic motor screenings in schools
  • The ability to implement targeted interventions that enhance movement, confidence and participation
  • A recognised certification to make a lasting impact

What Will You Learn?

This course qualifies you to

  • Assess motor competency using a baseline assessment tool
  • Run short, school-based interventions (15 minute sessions) to improve co-ordination, balance, proprioception, and agility.
  • Help children overcome primitive reflexes for better movement and engagement in PE and physical activities
