MATP
At the end of this session participants will have an understanding of:
* a working knowledge of the Special Olympics Motor Activity Training Programme;
* A range of individual- and group-based activities introducing ways of including young people who have profound, multiple and complex needs;
* ways of using the activities to develop basic manipulative, movement and sensory skills;
* methods of adapting and modifying activity to facilitate the participation of young people who have a wide range of abilities.

* The format and scope of the TOP Sportsability Elements online programme; ( free)
* Ways of using the activities to develop basic manipulative, movement and sensory skills, and to heighten their personal awareness; ( in line with the recommendations from the Rochford report for the 7 aspects of engagement)
*A variety of simple individual- and group-based activities aimed at supporting opportunities in physical activity for young people who have profound, multiple and complex needs;
* methods of adapting and modifying activity to facilitate the participation of young people who have a wide range of abilities.
