2 girls 2 boys

This competition is aimed at children who do tennis in school - not those who compete in mini tennis competitions outside of school

Rackets no longer than 23" in length should be used ( you provide)

Mini red felt tennis balls should be used ( you provide for your school)

each child is numbered ( they keep the same number all through)

Players numbered 1 should be the higher ability

Boy 1 will play boy 1 on other team

Boy 2 will play boy 2 on other team

Girl 1 will play girl 1 on other team

Girl 2 will play girl 2 on other team

All singles games

5 minute games 

Once game has started no substitutions can be made

Serve can be underarm or overarm

serves should be hit diagonally - a second serve is allowed if first is not successful

Scoring is 1,2,3,4,5 etc not 15,30 and 40etc in normal tennis

At the end of the 5 minutes a point is scored for the winner of each match

The score can be 4-0, 3-1 or 2-2

Children will be scored on their honesty for spirit of the games awards.
